Do you enjoy gardening?

Summer is finally here. The sun came out of hiding and gorgeous flowers have been popping out all over the place. The above flowers are from my garden. Beautiful aren't they? Our yard needs a lot of work... a lot. I don't know what the previous owner was thinking but all the flowers and plants are randomly placed. One of my ongoing projects is moving things around until it looks half decent. I've also been pulling out an insane amount of weeds. My ultimate goal is to have a golf course lawn. Near impossible, I know, but I'm giving it a shot anyway. (:

I'm having a lot of fun playing with colors lately. I finally have some time to think about how I want to decorate my new house. Yay! I'm really loving the sky blue above. I was thinking painting my bedroom that color with a dark Brazilian wood accent wall. As for the accompanying colors I'm still deciding between light gray, pale turquoise or baby yellow.

FUN FACT: The cherry blossom is one of my favorite trees (aside from the weeping willow). I especially love watching the petals sway from side to side as they fall, leaving behind an inviting carpet of pink fluff. Where I went to university, there were some of these trees by the side door & walking under them always made me feel so peaceful.

Yup, winter has officially arrived.

What is your favorite season?

The grass is green and the weather is mild. I go to sleep.
I wake up and look out the window. Bam! Two inches of snow.
Wow. World. Really?

I have to admit I'm not much of a fall person. The weather is grim and wet and you can't really enjoy the outdoors. No sun for baking, no snow for sports.

Dear winter,
You have surprised me.
But I am glad you have arrived.
